Weekly Cribbage Gatherings provide a more relaxed and social setting, where players of all skill levels can enjoy the classic game of crib. It’s about more than just the cards—it’s about conversation, connection, and sharing time with friends old and new.

These events are open to everyone and play an important role in supporting the Legion’s community initiatives through participation and proceeds.

Meat Draw & Chase the Ace

At the Minnedosa Legion Branch #138 Minnedosa, our weekly events bring the community together in a fun, welcoming atmosphere while supporting local initiatives.

Meat Draw Nights are a long-standing favourite—bringing friends, families, and neighbours together for an evening of excitement and great prizes. With a lively crowd and plenty of chances to win, it’s a perfect way to enjoy a night out while supporting your local Legion.

Chase the Ace adds even more excitement, offering participants the chance to win growing jackpots while contributing to important community and charitable causes. Each week builds anticipation as the deck gets smaller and the prize gets bigger—making it one of our most popular events.

These nights are more than just games—they are about connection, community spirit, and giving back. Proceeds from both events help fund our community programs, local donations, and support initiatives that benefit Minnedosa and the surrounding area.

The Veterans Group / Buddy Check Coffee at Royal Canadian Legion Branch #138 Minnedosa is built on one simple idea — connection.

This is a relaxed, welcoming space where Veterans can come together over a coffee, check in with one another, and reconnect with the camaraderie that many miss after service. Whether you drop in regularly or just when you feel like it, you will always be welcome.

Our gatherings are informal and inclusive, offering opportunities to:

• Connect with fellow Veterans in a comfortable setting

• Share experiences and support one another

• Enjoy casual events such as coffee meetups, luncheons, BBQs, and social afternoons

• Take time to decompress and be around people who understand

Buddy Check Coffee is not a program — it’s simply Veterans looking out for Veterans.

There is no pressure, no expectations — just a place to show up, have a coffee, and know that someone’s got your six.

Spouses and partners are welcome at many of our gatherings, helping strengthen the sense of community and support beyond the individual.
