Service Summary

Arthur Clarke McNabb was born March 23, 1919, on the family farm in Minto Municipality, the eldest son of Arthur and Margaret McNabb. He attended Cameron and Minnedosa schools and later graduated in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba in 1939.

He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940 and completed pilot training in Alberta.

Wartime Experience

Clarke served with No. 407 Squadron (“Demon Squadron”) in Coastal Command, flying Wellington aircraft on anti-submarine patrols over the Bay of Biscay.

On May 31, 1943, his aircraft failed to return from patrol and he was killed in action at the age of 24.

Commemoration

Arthur Clarke McNabb has no known grave and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey, England.
