George Albert McMillan

Service Summary

George Albert McMillan joined the Canadian Army in 1943 at the age of 30. He trained in Winnipeg and later at Camp Borden as a tank driver.

Wartime Experience

George served in Canada during the later years of the war in armoured training roles and support duties. He was discharged in Winnipeg in 1945.

Post-Service Life

Following service, George worked as a carpenter in Chater, Manitoba, before moving to Basswood.

He married Bernice Lochhead in 1949, and together they raised five children.

After retirement in 1979, they moved to Legion Gardens in Minnedosa in 1986.

George transferred his Legion membership to Minnedosa Branch #138 and became a Life Member.

He passed away on August 10, 1995.
