Service Summary
Edward Henry “Ted” Mann was born September 20, 1896, in the Rural Municipality of Odanah, Manitoba, to Walter and Anne Mann. He later pursued a career in banking and was transferred to Dauphin, Manitoba.
Ted and his brother Alf both enlisted for service on February 2, 1917.
Ted joined the Canadian Army Medical Corps and later transferred to the 3rd Field Ambulance in France.
Wartime Experience
Serving in the medical services, Ted assisted in the care and evacuation of wounded soldiers during the final years of the First World War.
Both Ted and his brother Alf safely returned home in 1919.
Post-Service Life
Following the war, Ted studied pharmacy at the University of Manitoba.
He later lived in Fort Frances, Ontario, where he married Maisie Scott. The family later moved to Winkler, Manitoba, where Ted operated his own business for many years before retiring to Winnipeg.
Ted and Maisie raised five children: Kenneth, Russell, Maurice, Sandy, and Marion.
Ted passed away in February 1980 at the age of 83.
