Service Summary
Emma Ruth Delmage enlisted in the Women’s Land Army in April 1940 at age 17 in England. She trained in agricultural work to support wartime food production.
Wartime Experience
Ruth worked on livestock farms, caring for large herds and supporting agricultural production during wartime.
During this time, she met Canadian soldier Ernest Delmage, whom she married in 1944.
Post-Service Life
Ruth immigrated to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She worked in administrative roles and later spent 25 years at the Minnedosa Credit Union.
She remained active in community organizations, including the Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
