Service Summary
Harvey Ernest Brugger enlisted in 1918 at the age of 17 with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles.
Wartime Experience
He served in communications and was twice wounded in action. One incident involved being buried by an artillery explosion, from which he survived.
He also carried out dangerous night operations under enemy fire, including laying defensive wire.
Post-Service Life
After returning home in 1919, Harvey was honoured by his community. He later married Anna Sandstrom, and together they farmed near Minnedosa and raised a family.
He passed away in 1987.
