Service Summary
Frederick Herman Bayes enlisted in June 1940 and trained across Canada before transferring to tank training with the Fort Garry Horse.
Wartime Experience
Although he trained extensively, Frederick was deemed medically unfit for overseas service. He instead contributed to the war effort through training and recruiting roles at #10 District Depot in Winnipeg.
Post-Service Life
Following his discharge, he returned to farming and later became a successful businessman in Minnedosa, operating both a tire shop and agricultural dealership.
He was highly active in community organizations and Legion activities.
